I tried swapping the headphones from back 3.5mm to front panel audio, I tried using different headphones, it all had the same result.Īs far as I know, the motherboard has an ALC887 chip from Realtek. I also tried getting the daily packages for Alsa (LTS Vivid to be correct) but it didn't help. Muting and unmuting did cause a slight crackle in my headphones, but I didn't get any sound through. I made sure that everything was set to 100 and unmuted in Alsamixer. Installing went fine, I was able to boot into my system like usual, but audio wasn't working.
